For those who have applied for teaching and non-teaching jobs in the state, Oyo State Government will begin computer-based testing (CBT).
The review, which is likely to last for about a week, is scheduled to start before 15 August
According to the Nation Newspaper, the chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akinade Alamu announced this on Monday, while offering an update on the recruitment process.
Alamu also disclosed that, after voicing their interest in conversion, about 1000 non-teaching staff in different schools across the state who had gained additional qualifications were converted to teaching staff. He said the process is just done.
The TESCOM boss further claimed that details of the 70,000 applicants for the teaching and non-teaching jobs were uploaded, adding that eligible candidates would be contacted via their registered emails.
He also said the teachers of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) will be among those who would undergo CBT due to their lack of proper profiling and documentation with the government, adding that priority will be given to these candidates.
“The PTA teachers will be part of the training we’ll pursue. You know, we haven’t learned much about their history and credentials so during this ongoing recruiting exercise we will give them priority.
“We have just finished converting non-teaching staff. We have just concluded their interviews with those who are already working in all schools who have gained additional qualifications and who plan to move to teaching, and there are around one thousand of them.
“And we have finished uploading of applicants’ credentials. I can assure you that we will have the CBT for the about 70,000 applicants before 15 August.
“We’ll get back to those who uploaded their credentials via their email and send them the date of the exams.
“The CBT test must start before August 15th, you know it’s not going to be a day test. This will spread over a week, due to the number of candidates taking the exams.
“I can assure you that the examination will begin before August 15th but we will give details of the examination to applicants who have uploaded their credentials,” Alamu said.
