October 1: Nigerians To Be Addressed By Buhari Live From Eagle Square

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians on a live broadcast from Eagle Square in Abuja on Thursday, 1 October 2020.

The President’s expected speech, confirmed to Top Gist Portal by Femi Adesina’s special media and advertisement advisor on Wednesday, is part of the country’s 60th Independence Day celebration.

The address will begin at 10 a.m. after the anniversary parade.

Adesina also noted that due to the address, the regular presidential broadcast early in the morning of 1 October would not take place on Thursday.

The statement reads:

“As part of activities commemorating the 60th Independence Anniversary of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation from the Eagle Square, Abuja, Thursday, October 1, 2020.”

“The live address will commence after the Anniversary Parade beginning at 10am which will be covered by major television and radio stations especially the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).”

“Please note that in view of the open-air live address, the traditional early morning October 1 Presidential Broadcast will not feature on Thursday.”
