NYSC Orientation Camps Nationwide Confirmed Open – Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the National Youth Service Corps to begin preparations for the re-opening of its national orientation camps.
This was disclosed on Thursday by the National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu, during a briefing at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
NYSC Orientation Camps Nationwide
The National Youth Service Corps orientation camps across Nigeria had been shut in March as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Speaking on Thursday, Aliyu said that the task force was in the process of creating “strict guidelines” to avoid the outbreak of infections when NYSC camps were reopened.
“For the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC is to improve the security measures currently in place and to start planning for the reopening of orientation camps when educational institutions are opened,” he said.
“We are in the process of establishing strict guidelines to ensure that there is no outbreak of Covid-19 when this process begins,” he said.
