The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared that the examinations of the 2020 National Examination Council (NECO) will begin on 5 October.

The Government also declared that the examinations of the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) would begin on September 21.

This was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuiba, following a two-day meeting with the country’s Chief Executives of the exam bodies.

The Federal Government added that the NECO exams will end on 18 November 2020, while the NABTEB exams will end on 15 October 2020.

The statement added that the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for Unity Colleges will take place on 17 October 2020, while the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) for JSS 3 pupils, also administered by NECO, will begin on 24 August and end on 7 September.

The statement warned that the ongoing registration for the NECO (SSCE) would end on September 10, 2020 with no extension option available.
