NDDC Has Turned Nigerian Students In The UK To Street Beggars – Abike Dabiri-Erewa Laments: The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has lamented over the situation currently experienced by Nigerian students on Scholarship in the United Kingdom.

According to her, due to the inability of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC to pay the allowances, tuition, and other incentives of students the student on its scholarship scheme, a good number of the citizens have become beggars on the street.

Dabiri-Erewa in the statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, July 28 through NIDCOM spokesperson Gabriel Odu, urged the NDDC management team to act with immediate effect to address the challenges.

She again charged the management to release the funds appropriated for the scholarship program of these students in other for them to continue with their study.

“At the moment there have been persistent calls by the Students for urgent intervention. While the deadline for payment of the fees of some of the students has expired or about to expire, non-payment of their allowances have turned many of them to virtually become beggars,” the statement reads.
