Others who recovered their freedom apart from the 18-month-old son of the hotel manager include a late Monday brother and an unidentified lady.

The gunmen, who were reportedly dressed in Fulani’s clothes, staggered across the open arena of the Royal Garden Relaxing Spot, firing sporadically as customers fled for cover in different directions.

The kidnappers claimed to have made contact with the family of one of their victims barely 12 hours after their abduction.

Confirming the developments, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Williams Ayah, said he was not aware of any ransom payments.

Ayah, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the command is still on the trail of the criminals and is making every effort to get them to the books.
