Just In: Police Arrest Five Traffic Robbers In Lagos
A total of five suspected traffic robbers were apprehended by operatives attached to the Ketu division of the Lagos State Police Command.
Spokesman of the Command, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who reported the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, October 13, said the machineries had been put in motion to hunt down traffic robbers who harassed and robbed innocent Lagosians in the traffic particularly within the state
Adejobi said the suspects – Olasunkanmi Oyewole, Quadri Lawal, Abraham Olateju, Tunde Bello, and Olagoke Adewole were arrested on 9th and 12th October 2020 after they robbed two different men at Ketu end of Lagos/Ibadan expressway.
In the meantime, Police Commissioner CP Hakeem Odumosu has triggered the officers and men of the command to stand up immediately and provide adequate security for all, despite ongoing protests across the state.
Odumosu said this Tuesday while addressing a number of officers at the headquarters in GRA, Ikeja, in preparation for police operational activities during the ember months.
Although maintaining sufficient protection for Lagosians during the ember months, the Commissioner also charged other Divisional Police Officers in command with enforcing all the anti-crime measures designed by the Command to combat road robbery and other robberies and crime in their areas, even after the ember months.
