Barcelona captain Lionel Messi returned to the club training for the first time after he attempted to leave the club on Monday.
The information gathered showed that Messi was going to practice personally on the basis of La Liga ‘s strict Coronavirus protocols before returning to work with his teammates at a later date.
The La Liga giant will be hosting Gimnastic at the Johan Cruyff Stadium on Saturday, but Messi is unlikely to be involved.
He will play against Girona in another friendly on Sept. 16 ahead of the season opener against Villarreal at the end of the month.
Messi had already expressed his intention to leave the club.
Messi admitted the loss on Friday, however, telling Goal that he would not take the legal route to force the exit from Camp Nou.
It’s the first time he has had a face-to-face meeting with Koeman since the two of them had a meeting on August 21. At the meeting, Messi told the Dutch coach that he wanted to leave the club.
