Crime Updates: Robbers Attack Parish Priest In Makurdi
Armed robbers strucked St. Augustine’s Catholic Church parish priest Demekpe, Fr. Mfa Mdooyongo Solomon, Makurdi, the state capital of Benue.
The attack took place in the early hours of Monday.
The robbers, Solomon told The Nation, had taken away his phone, cash, ATM cards, and other valuables.
The fiery priest told The Nation that the thieves raided his parish house in the church building at around 2 a.m. and forced their way into his bedroom through a window using the ladder which they used to ascend the one-storey building.
He said the robbers pushed him into the toilet before they shot into the air and fled.
Operation Dzenda’s operatives, a police anti-robbery unit, visited the scene of the crime to be able to trace the hoodlums.
