Fathia Ojewoye, a 14-year-old high school student, was raped to death in Agbeloba-Oriyonrin, Abeokuta, Ogun County.
The teenager was reported missing by her parents on Wednesday, but her body was found three days later, with some of her personal belongings, in an unfinished building in the area.
It was gathered that the teenage mother had sent her to refill her gas cylinder around the area. Since then, she has not returned yet.
Her parents, who became apprehensive, started looking for her, but to no avail, until her body was discovered on Saturday.
Sources said that Faithia was last seen with a young man at the time she was heading to the gas station. Since then, the young man had fled the area.
The teenager was allegedly brutally defiled and later assassinated by the fleeing suspect(s).
The Ogun State Police Command reported the ugly incident.
The Ogun State Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the investigation had started to uncover the mystery behind the gruesome murder of the teenager.
He promised that the command would ensure that the suspects were quickly apprehended.
