3 Victims Freed As Notorious Kidnapper Finally Caught In Katsina

Katsina State Police Command today confirmed the arrest of a notorious gang member and abduction for ransom syndicate, Abubakar Ibrahim, 19, in Rugu Forest.

SP Gambo Isah, the spokesperson for the police, who made this known in a statement in Katsina, said the kidnapping syndicate had troubled people in Batsari, Safana, Damnusa and Kurfi Local Government Areas in the state for a long time.

Isah also noted that three people had been saved by the police during the search.

According to Isah, on 7 September 2020, the suspect led other members of his union to motorcycles, all armed with AK 47 rifles, and assaulted Dagarawa and Kudewa villages in Safana and Kurfi Local Government Areas.
According to him, the bandits kidnapped one of them, Ashiru Ibrahim, 32, Duduwa Audu, 50, and Asiya Saleh, 45, all of Kudewa Village, Kurfi Local Government District, and took them to Rugu Forest.

“This nemesis trapped the suspect when he fell into a bobby trap and was arrested by SARS operatives after collecting the amount of N241,000 ransoms from the victims’ relatives,” he said
